£60m Newcastle Star Shares Same Agent As Arteta In Transfer Twist

Arsenal are reportedly considering a summer bid for Newcastle United defender Tino Livramento, with the England international’s agent connection to Mikel Arteta potentially proving crucial in any transfer negotiations.
According to The Telegraph, the Gunners are among several Premier League clubs monitoring the 23-year-old’s situation at St. James’ Park, where contract talks have been shelved amid uncertainty over his future.
Newcastle would demand around £60million for the versatile defender, who can operate on either flank but predominantly plays at right-back. The Magpies are hoping to secure double their £32million investment from his Southampton move in 2023.

Agent Connection Could Prove Key
The most intriguing aspect of Arsenal’s potential pursuit is that Livramento shares the same agent as Arsenal manager Arteta. This relationship could provide the north London side with an advantage in any transfer discussions, though Newcastle remain determined to retain the England international.
Livramento has two years remaining on his current deal, making this summer a crucial window for Newcastle to either secure his long-term future or cash in on his market value.
Arsenal May Need To Sell First
Any move for Livramento would likely require Arsenal to generate funds through player sales first. The Telegraph reports the club needs to offload at least one first-team player this summer, with questions surrounding Ben White’s future after falling behind Jurrien Timber in the right-back pecking order.
Gabriel Martinelli and Gabriel Jesus could also be made available, with it described as ‘almost certain’ that Arsenal would need to sell before pursuing the Newcastle defender.
Arsenal’s historical struggles with generating significant transfer fees remain a concern, with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain’s £35million Liverpool move in 2017 still standing as their record sale.
Injury Concerns Remain
Despite his talent, there are reservations about Livramento’s injury record. The defender missed an entire season with a serious knee injury during his Southampton days and has been limited to just 11 starts this campaign due to knee and hamstring issues.
He recently returned as a substitute in Newcastle’s defeat to Manchester City, suggesting he’s working his way back to full fitness ahead of the crucial summer months.
Manchester City have also been linked with Livramento, though their interest has reportedly cooled in recent weeks. Newcastle manager Eddie Howe remains hopeful of convincing the defender to commit his future to the club through improved contract terms before the transfer window opens.
