Arsenal captain Kim Little has signed a one-year contract extension, ensuring the 35-year-old midfielder will remain at the club for another season.

The Scottish international first joined Arsenal in 2008 before spending three seasons with Seattle Reign in the NWSL. She returned to north London in 2017 and has since cemented herself as one of the most important players in the squad.

Extraordinary trophy haul

Little’s career with Arsenal has been defined by success. The midfielder has accumulated an impressive 177 goals across 405 appearances for the club, while winning every possible trophy during her time with the Gunners.

Her honors include Arsenal’s second UEFA Women’s Champions League title, which the club secured in Lisbon in May 2025. She has also lifted five league titles, three FA Cups, seven League Cups, one Community Shield, and the FIFA Women’s Champions Cup.

At international level, Little scored 59 goals in 140 appearances for Scotland between 2007 and 2021, when she announced her retirement from international football.

Individual recognition

The veteran midfielder’s individual achievements reflect her consistent excellence over more than a decade. She was named PFA Player of the Year in 2013 and BBC Women’s Footballer of the Year in 2016.

Little has been included in the PFA Team of the Year on four occasions and was awarded an MBE for services to football in the New Year’s Honours List in 2023.

Despite approaching her 36th birthday, according to Arseblog, Little remains one of the best players in the world and continues to be crucial to Arsenal’s setup under the current management structure.

The contract extension provides continuity for Arsenal as they look to build on their recent Champions League success and maintain their position among Europe’s elite women’s teams. Little’s experience and leadership qualities make her an invaluable asset both on and off the pitch.
