Arsenal Consider Replacing Star Forward Amid Saudi Interest

Arteta Prepares to Reshape Arsenal’s Attack
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is reportedly preparing for a significant shake-up in his attacking options, as a top-performing forward from the past year faces an uncertain future at the Emirates.
With potential offers from the Saudi Pro League on the table, Arsenal are said to be open to parting ways with the player as they eye a new direction up front.

The Gunners suffered a narrow 1-0 loss to Newcastle United over the weekend, where their attacking struggles were on full display.
Arteta’s line-up featured Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli flanking Leandro Trossard and Kai Havertz, but all four forwards struggled to make an impact against a well-organised Newcastle defence.
The performance raised questions about Arsenal’s attacking depth, even though Arteta could still call upon Gabriel Jesus and Raheem Sterling, the latter on loan, as backup.
Arteta now appears set to adjust his forward line, with one key player expected to make way for a fresh face.
Trossard Likely to Be Transfer Target, Kudus Linked as Replacement
Arteta has solidified several players as key starters, with false nine Kai Havertz and right-winger Bukayo Saka among the first names on the team sheet.
Gabriel Jesus has faced injury setbacks, while Sterling’s temporary status as a loan player limits his long-term impact.
This leaves Martinelli and Trossard competing for the left-wing role, though both bring distinct qualities to the side.
Martinelli has impressed on the left and recently ranked seventh in FourFourTwo’s list of the world’s top left-wingers.
Meanwhile, Trossard, who joined from Brighton for £27 million in January 2022, has consistently delivered crucial goals in high-stakes matches against teams like Porto, Bayern Munich, Manchester United, and Liverpool.
Despite his valuable contributions, Trossard’s future at Arsenal appears uncertain, with the club reportedly willing to consider selling him if a suitable offer arrives from Saudi Arabia.
According to sources, Arsenal have shown interest in other potential replacements, with Mohammed Kudus emerging as a possible target, while Florian Wirtz has also been mentioned.
Trossard, who turns 30 next month, has been an effective addition since his arrival, but Arsenal may see this as a prime opportunity to cash in and invest in a forward better suited to Arteta’s tactical preferences.
Arsenal’s Future on the Left Side: A Balancing Act
Trossard’s role at Arsenal has been effective but has limitations in Arteta’s evolving system.
Not a traditional winger or a natural finisher like Havertz, Trossard’s playing style may not fully align with Arteta’s preference for wingers who stretch the defence by staying wide.
Despite this, his reliability and knack for scoring decisive goals have made him a valuable squad member, especially considering Jesus’s injury issues.
Transfermarkt currently values Trossard at €35 million, a figure that could tempt Arsenal to make a profitable sale should an enticing offer emerge.
Arsenal’s decision may hinge on addressing broader issues on their left side, including finding a solution for the left-back position and a more attacking presence in the left-sided No.8 role.
With Declan Rice currently deployed in that position, Arteta may seek a player capable of offering more offensive support.
In the meantime, Trossard remains an important part of Arteta’s squad, offering both quality and depth as Arsenal gear up for their Champions League clash with Inter Milan this week.
