Arsenal are preparing for a competitive summer transfer battle as they look to secure the signing of Aston Villa forward Morgan Rogers, with Chelsea and Manchester United also circling the England international.
Rogers has enjoyed a breakout campaign for Villa, registering 17 goal involvements across 45 appearances this season. His impressive form has caught the attention of multiple Premier League giants, setting up what could be an expensive bidding war.

Big Six interest intensifies
Both Arsenal and Chelsea previously showed interest in Rogers last summer, but Villa successfully convinced the 22-year-old to remain at Villa Park. He subsequently signed a six-year contract extension in November, tying him to the club until 2031.
However, the new deal crucially does not include a release clause, leaving the door open for potential suitors to test Villa’s resolve. According to The Times, Arsenal and Chelsea are expected to renew their pursuit of Rogers this summer, with Manchester United now joining the race.
Villa are reportedly demanding around £80 million for Rogers’ services, a fee that could rise further if he impresses at the upcoming World Cup. The club’s willingness to sell stems from their need to avoid Profit and Sustainability Rules breaches.
Tactical fit appeals to Arsenal
Rogers’ versatility across multiple attacking positions makes him an attractive prospect for Arsenal, who may look to refresh their forward options following inconsistent form from Leandro Trossard and Gabriel Martinelli this season.
The Villa star has previously expressed admiration for Mikel Arteta’s tactical approach, comparing it favorably to his current manager Unai Emery’s methods. Speaking last season, Rogers highlighted the similarities between Emery and Pep Guardiola in their demanding, structured coaching styles.
Arsenal could have additional funds available if academy prospects Myles Lewis-Skelly and Ethan Nwaneri are sold this summer, potentially providing the financial flexibility needed to compete for Rogers’ signature.
Competition heats up
Chelsea’s interest may be driven by the possibility of Enzo Fernandez seeking a departure, with Rogers potentially reuniting with close friend Cole Palmer at Stamford Bridge. Manchester United, likely returning to European competition, are also expected to strengthen their attacking options.
Villa will not retain the full proceeds from any potential sale, having agreed to a 20 percent sell-on clause when they signed Rogers from Middlesbrough for £15 million in 2024. This financial arrangement adds another layer of complexity to the developing transfer saga.
The summer window promises to deliver intense competition for one of the Premier League’s most promising young forwards, with Arsenal facing a significant challenge to secure their target.
