Arsenal Pushing for Transfer as Wolves Reduce Asking Price

Arsenal ‘Pushing’ for Medical as Wolves Lower Asking Price for Pedro Neto

Arsenal are making strides towards a significant acquisition, as Wolverhampton Wanderers reportedly edge closer to a major sale.

The Gunners have shown renewed interest in Wolves winger Pedro Neto and have requested his medical data in preparation for a potential bid.

According to Football Transfers, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is keen to sign Neto, but only if medical tests confirm his fitness.

Concerns over Neto’s injury history, particularly his hamstring issues that sidelined him for much of the past two seasons, are central to this decision.

Neto was one of Wolves’ standout performers in the 2023/24 season, despite his limited appearances.

The 24-year-old managed two goals and nine assists in 20 Premier League matches.

His performance was particularly notable in the 4-3 home defeat to Manchester United in February, where he scored and earned the man of the match award.

Arsenal hopes to see this level of performance transferred to the Emirates Stadium, but only if Neto can demonstrate improved fitness.

Arteta will decide on whether to make a bid after analyzing the acquired medical data.

Wolves Lower Asking Price for Pedro Neto

Football Transfers reports that Wolves have significantly reduced Neto’s price tag.

The club needs to sell in order to fund new signings and comply with the Premier League’s profit and sustainability regulations (PSR).

Initially, Wolves demanded £80 million for Neto in January. However, this figure has now dropped to a more reasonable £43 million.

Selling Neto for this price would still yield a substantial profit, considering Wolves paid £15 million to Lazio for his transfer in 2019.

With this lowered asking price, Arsenal’s pursuit of Neto is gaining momentum. If the medical data proves favorable, Arsenal could soon make a decisive move for the Portuguese winger.
