Arsenal’s Premier League clash at West Ham United has been rescheduled to Sunday, 10 May, after Sky Sports selected the fixture for UK broadcast coverage.
The match, originally set for 3pm on Saturday, will now kick off at 4.30pm. The fixture could prove significant at both ends of the table, with Arsenal pushing for the title while West Ham fight to avoid relegation.

West Ham tighten ticket restrictions
The scheduling change comes amid reports that West Ham are implementing stricter controls on ticket sales to first-time buyers in the home end. According to the Mirror, the club has noticed an unusual spike in ticket purchases, with the assumption that Arsenal supporters are attempting to secure seats for what could be a title-winning moment.
An email from the West Ham ticket office informed some purchasers that their tickets were on hold, stating: “We are currently conducting ticket checks for this fixture to ensure that away supporters do not purchase tickets in the home end.”
The club is requesting photographic evidence of West Ham support, noting: “As you have no previous booking history with us or have only/mainly booked this particular fixture, we require evidence of you and your guest(s) being a West Ham United supporter.”
Title race mathematics
Despite the precautions, the chances of Arsenal wrapping up the title with three games to spare remain slim. The Gunners currently need 16 points to be mathematically untouchable, which would require winning their next four league matches against Bournemouth, Manchester City, Newcastle and Fulham, while Manchester City drops further points elsewhere.
The scheduling picture could become more complex if Arsenal beat Southampton on Saturday and progress to the FA Cup semi-finals. The Newcastle fixture, scheduled for the weekend of 25 April, could be brought forward to 22 April to accommodate the cup commitment.
The extra day’s preparation provided by the Sunday kick-off time will be welcomed by Arsenal, particularly given the intensity of the title race and the potential for fixture congestion as the season reaches its climax. With West Ham fighting for Premier League survival, the match promises to be a crucial encounter for both sides’ respective ambitions.
