Club Name History
The club was founded as Dial Square β named after a workshop at the Royal Arsenal complex. Within months they adopted Royal Arsenal, then Woolwich Arsenal upon becoming a Football League club. Henry Norris dropped "Woolwich" when relocating north in 1913.
Home Stadium
Emirates Stadium replaced Highbury as Arsenal's home after 93 years. Arsene Wenger oversaw the entire project, and the move gave the club the financial platform to compete at the top of European football. It is the second-largest club stadium in England after Old Trafford.
Stadium History
Training Ground
Arsene Wenger moved the club to the purpose-built training complex at London Colney in 1999. Previously the squad had shared facilities with University College London since 1961. The site was renamed Sobha Realty Training Centre in 2024 as part of a commercial partnership.
Current Manager
Arteta replaced Unai Emery in December 2019 and secured the FA Cup just months later in his first season. He was subsequently promoted from interim head coach to permanent manager in September 2020. Arteta has led Arsenal to back-to-back Premier League runner-up finishes and rebuilt the club into title contenders.
