Gabriel Admits He Would Leave Arsenal for Dream Transfer “Tomorrow”

Arsenal star Gabriel Magalhães has candidly admitted that he would leave the Gunners for a dream transfer to Brazilian outfit Corinthians if the opportunity arose.

The 26-year-old centre-half, hailing from São Paulo, is an ardent fan of the iconic club in his homeland.

Since joining Arsenal from Lille several seasons ago, Gabriel has become a leading figure at the Emirates, forming a formidable partnership with William Saliba.

Gabriel’s Love for Corinthians

Gabriel’s passion for Corinthians is no secret. He frequently attends their matches and was recently seen taking public transport to a game in São Paulo.

When discussing his love for the Brazilian club, he said, “Corinthians, that’s since I was born and today I don’t think it has to be any different. I still go to Corinthians games by train.

It’s my dream, I want to play for Corinthians, I want to feel that energy.”

Pressed on whether he could see himself playing for Corinthians, Gabriel responded, “It’s something to think about. Sometimes I stop and think, ‘Do you dream of playing for Corinthians?’ I do.

‘When would you play for Corinthians?’ For me, I’d be at Corinthians tomorrow. I hope it doesn’t take too long because I want to feel the energy of those fans, who are incredible, as soon as possible.”

Despite his deep affection for Corinthians, there has been no talk of Gabriel moving away from north London.

He has been an integral part of Arsenal’s defence, which was one of the best in the Premier League last season.

Gabriel Committed to Arsenal

At the start of the recent campaign, Gabriel found himself dislodged from the starting XI, with Ben White moving to centre-half alongside Saliba and Thomas Partey filling in at right-back.

This situation led Gabriel to contemplate his future at the club.

However, a crucial conversation with manager Mikel Arteta convinced him to stay focused and committed to the team.

“He (Arteta) spoke to me and obviously explained the reasons behind the decision. Why I should stay – but the most important thing was to remain focused and concentrate – he knew how important I was to the team, so I’m happy to be back and to be able to help the team in every game. I’m happy to be back in the team and hopefully I can help them moving forward,” Gabriel said.

Arsenal’s Defensive Future

Arsenal are not expecting to lose any key members of their backline this summer.

Gabriel, Saliba, and White remain crucial figures in Arteta’s defensive setup.

However, the club is likely to be in the market for a new left-back to strengthen their squad.

Meanwhile, back-up goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale is expected to seek a move elsewhere in search of regular playing time.
