“My priority is to return to Arsenal” – Defender Seeks for Arsenal Return Next Season
Nuno Tavares Eager for Arsenal Return Following Nottingham Forest Loan
After spending a season on loan at Nottingham Forest, Nuno Tavares is set to return to Arsenal this summer.
With his contract with the Gunners running until 2025, his future under Mikel Arteta remains uncertain.
In a recent interview with Sport TV in Portugal, quoted by Noticias ao Minuto, Tavares emphasized his commitment to Arsenal, despite the uncertainty surrounding his future.
“My priority is to return to Arsenal. After that, only the future will tell,” Tavares stated.
“Everyone knows that I have another year left on my Arsenal contract. I have people I trust looking after my future. There have been a few approaches, but I always leave it to whoever is in charge of my future.”
Arsenal acquired Tavares from Benfica for €8 million in the summer of 2021.
During his debut season, he made 28 appearances for the Gunners. In 2022, he was loaned to Marseille, where he spent a year in France.
Last summer, he joined Nottingham Forest on loan, but his time there was challenging, with only 12 appearances and many games spent off the squad list.
These recent struggles could complicate finding a new destination, and Tavares’ agents are undoubtedly working on potential opportunities.
As the summer progresses, it remains to be seen whether Tavares will get a new chance at Arsenal or if he will move elsewhere to continue his career.
