Jurrien Timber has been declared fit to start Arsenal’s Champions League final against Paris St-Germain on Saturday, providing Mikel Arteta with a major boost ahead of the showpiece event in Budapest.
The Dutch defender has not featured for the Gunners since sustaining a groin injury during the victory over Everton in March, leaving Arteta with limited options at right-back.

According to the BBC, Timber has been pictured in training as Arsenal prepare for their clash with Luis Enrique’s reigning champions at the Puskas Arena.
Defensive options restored
Timber’s availability comes as welcome relief for Arteta, who has been dealing with a defensive crisis in recent months. Ben White remains sidelined with a knee ligament injury, forcing the manager to deploy makeshift solutions at right-back.
Centre-back Cristhian Mosquera has deputised in the position this season, while midfielders Martin Zubimendi and Declan Rice have also been pressed into service when required.
The Spanish manager also confirmed that Noni Madueke is available for selection after the winger came off with a hamstring issue during Arsenal’s match against Crystal Palace last weekend.
Arteta eyes second trophy
Arteta dismissed suggestions that the pressure is reduced following Arsenal’s first Premier League title triumph in 22 years, emphasizing the club’s growing ambitions.
“No, the ambition is bigger, we have one and we want the second one,” the manager stated. “That is all we have been talking about. There has to be a platform to reach bigger destinations and to aim for more.”
Arsenal face PSG as underdogs, with the French champions looking to become only the second team to win consecutive Champions League titles in the modern era. The Parisians defeated the Gunners in last year’s semi-finals, adding extra motivation for Arteta’s side.
“They are defending the trophy and they are the champions and we are here to take that away from them,” Arteta added, expressing confidence in his squad’s ability to deliver on the biggest stage.
The final kicks off at 17:00 BST on Saturday, with Arsenal hoping to cap off their remarkable season by claiming European football’s ultimate prize.
