Arsenal among clubs briefed early on Man City's guilty verdict

Arsenal were among four Premier League clubs reportedly given advance notice of Manchester City's guilty verdict before the rest of the division was informed, according to The Telegraph.
City were found guilty of 114 of the 115 charges of financial breaches brought against them by the Premier League, with the verdict confirmed last week by an independent three-person commission. The Telegraph reports that Arsenal, Tottenham, Liverpool and Manchester United were briefed on the outcome before the remainder of the top flight received an email on September 25.
The reasoning behind the early notice ties back to legal action initiated by the four clubs in 2024. Arsenal, Tottenham, Liverpool and Manchester United all began potential legal proceedings against City that year, a move which could now make them eligible for compensation should the guilty verdict stand once City's appeal is heard.
