Arsenal’s players and coaching staff have revealed their thoughts on new striker Viktor Gyökeres, after his first week at the club.

Viktor Gyökeres has wasted no time making an impression at Arsenal, with sources inside the club revealing the Swedish striker’s immediate impact has left everyone inside the club in awe. The £63.8 million signing from Sporting CP has reportedly blown away coaches and teammates alike with his professionalism and readiness to contribute.

According to TBR Football‘s Graeme Bailey, the response from inside the Arsenal camp when asked about Gyökeres has been overwhelmingly positive. “One word, ‘wow’ – that is the response I have had from inside the Arsenal camp when I asked about Gyökeres”, Bailey revealed.

The 27-year-old striker’s seamless integration into Arsenal’s setup appears to have exceeded expectations. Despite having only recently completed his move from Sporting, where he scored an incredible 97 goals in 102 appearances, Gyökeres is already being touted as match-ready by those who have witnessed him in training.

Bailey’s sources suggest the striker’s immediate availability could be crucial for Arsenal’s ambitions. “Although he has just turned up, I am told that he could play tomorrow if the Premier League started – he is ready!” the journalist explained. This level of preparedness represents exactly what manager Mikel Arteta was seeking when identifying the Swedish international as his primary striker target.

The Swede’s approach to his new surroundings has particularly impressed Arsenal’s coaching staff. His work ethic and attitude have already set a high standard that resonates with the club’s values under Arteta’s leadership. “Gyökeres made it clear through the process that he is ready, and my word, he has blown coaches and teammates away already,” Bailey noted.

Arsenal’s measured response to their new striker’s early impact suggests a club that has learned from previous experiences. “Arsenal are not getting carried away, but his professionalism is shining through already. Arsenal really do think they have landed a good one,” Bailey observed.

The striker’s debut was brief, featuring as a late substitute for Kai Havertz during a 0-1 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur in Hong Kong. Next Wednesday, Arsenal fans will have their first opportunity of seeing Gyökeres don red and white at The Emirates, as the Gunners continue their pre-season preparations against Villarreal.
