Arsenal director, Andrea Berta held phone call with star winger

New sporting director at Arsenal, Andrea Berta, has engaged in personal communication with a €75million rated winger.
As Arsenal finish second for the third successive Premier League season, the club has now turned their attention to the summer, ahead of what is dubbed to be a huge transfer window for the North London club.
While Real Sociedad midfielder, Martin Zubimendi, is already set to join the side, Mikel Arteta has hinted that he would like Arsenal’s transfer business to be conducted as early as possible this year.
To join the midfielder at The Emirates, the Gunners are eyeing both a striker and a winger, in an attempt to bolster their attack ahed of next campaign.
While reportedly interested in both Viktor Gyökeres and Benjamin Šeško in the striker department, Nico Williams and Jamie Gittens are also among those on Arsenal’s shortlist.
However, according to Foot Mercato, Arsenal’s newly appointed sporting director, Andrea Berta, held a phone call with AC Milan’s Rafael Leão in approximately the last ten days.

The winger, who is rated around €75million, is not the Gunners’ top target though, and Berta is laying the groundwork on multiple targets, allowing the club to act quickly upon a unanimous decision.
Leão is contracted at the Italian club until June 2028, but after AC Milan failed to qualify for any European competition this campaign, the 25 year-old could be on the hunt for pastures new in the coming months.
While the Rossoneri have had a disappointing year, both in the league and in Europe, Leão has also had a personally poor season for his standards, registering just 23 goal involvements in 50 games, his lowest tally since 2021.
With Leandro Trossard’s contract talks progressing, and Gabriel Martinelli still being viewed as a key part of Arteta’s squad, the competition on the left-flank will be hot at The Emirates next season.
Arsenal finish their season with a trip to Southampton tomorrow, before all eyes will be turned on the huge summer ahead.
