Arsenal 'favourites' if Juventus ever sell left wing target

Arsenal remain interested in signing Kenan Yildiz, with Juventus reportedly prepared to let the Gunners jump the queue should they ever decide to cash in on the Turkish forward.

According to Metro Sport, Arsenal have monitored Yildiz's situation over the last few seasons and could be in a strong position to secure his signature if Juventus eventually decide to let him leave. The report states that the Gunners would be favourites if Juventus opened the door to a sale, with their continued interest over recent seasons putting them in a strong position, although any move will depend on whether the Italian club eventually changes its stance.

Left wing still a priority

Arsenal are still looking to strengthen their options on the left wing after failing to bring in a direct replacement following Gabriel Martinelli's departure late in the last transfer window. That has left Christos Tzolis as the only natural option in the role, with Noni Madueke and Eberechi Eze able to provide cover but not a dedicated left sided option.

Yildiz has established himself as one of Juventus's key attacking figures and is considered among the top players in his position. Arsenal reportedly believe he could bring further quality to their squad as they continue to look to strengthen their attacking options.

Juventus insist he is not for sale

His importance to Juventus makes any potential deal difficult for now. The Italian club has maintained that Yildiz is not for sale, which the report notes was one of the reasons he remained in Turin during the last transfer window.

For the time being, Juventus are not prepared to part with one of their most important players, but that stance could shift in the future. Should it do so, Arsenal's long standing interest is said to give them a strong platform to pursue a deal.

Arsenal's search for another left winger remains an important part of their recruitment plans, with Yildiz continuing to be linked with a possible move to north London. Any serious movement in this pursuit is likely to hinge entirely on whether Juventus's position on their prized forward changes in the coming transfer windows.
