Arsenal have been credited with an interest in Club Brugge forward Nicolo Tresoldi, with Tottenham reportedly also in the running for the 21 year old.

According to Sport Witness, Arsenal are among several clubs keeping tabs on Tresoldi, who has continued to impress for the Belgian side. The report suggests competition for his signature is already building, with multiple teams said to be monitoring the forward's situation.

Arsenal's connection to Brugge is not a new one. The two sides met in last season's Champions League, giving Arsenal's scouting staff a direct look at the club's squad. That fixture has been cited as part of the background to the club's interest in Brugge players more broadly.

Tzolis link offers a point of reference

Arsenal have already brought in Christos Tzolis from Brugge, and his form in north London has reportedly played a part in the club's willingness to look at the Belgian outfit again. A smooth transition from Brugge to the Premier League would, in theory, make any future move for another of the club's players feel less of a gamble.

Still, interest at this stage amounts to no more than information gathering rather than an active pursuit. There is no suggestion yet of a bid being prepared, and any formal move would likely depend on how Arsenal's recruitment priorities shape up heading into the next transfer window.

Tottenham reportedly in the mix

Sport Witness also links Tottenham with a move for Tresoldi, describing efforts from the club to work towards a potential transfer. That would raise the prospect of a north London rivalry extending into the market if both clubs decide to pursue the forward seriously.

Being one of Europe's bigger clubs does not automatically give Arsenal the upper hand. The player's own preferences, along with the financial terms different suitors are able to offer, could end up deciding where he moves next.

For now, Tresoldi remains firmly in the category of a player being watched rather than one close to a switch. Whether Arsenal's interest develops into something more concrete, and whether Tottenham end up as serious rivals for his signature, should become clearer as the transfer window approaches.
