Arsenal have been credited with an interest in Inter Milan midfielder Andy Diouf, as Mikel Arteta's side continue to assess options to strengthen the squad. The 23 year old Frenchman has been developing steadily at the Serie A giants and his versatility appears to have caught the attention of recruitment staff in north London.
According to Fichajes, Arsenal have added Diouf to a list of potential targets as they look at players capable of improving their options across the pitch. His ability to operate either in central midfield or out wide is said to be part of the appeal, giving Arteta a player who could cover more than one role within the squad.

A key man at Inter
Inter have been among the most consistent sides in Italian football in recent seasons and currently boast a squad packed with quality. Diouf is regarded as an important part of that group, which means the San Siro club are unlikely to be willing sellers, even with Premier League interest emerging.
Arsenal enjoyed a stronger European campaign than Inter last season, and that contrast in fortunes has fuelled talk of players from the Italian club being tempted by a move to England. For now, though, Diouf remains firmly contracted to Inter and there is no suggestion talks have progressed beyond background interest.
Significant fee likely required
Given his standing within the squad, Inter would be expected to demand a substantial fee should they entertain any offers. The club's valuation of Diouf could rise further if other suitors enter the picture, putting Arsenal in a position where a significant financial commitment would be needed to advance any interest.
It is worth stressing that reported interest does not equate to a formal approach or ongoing negotiations. Arsenal have simply been credited with monitoring Diouf as one of several names being considered, and there is no indication at this stage that a move is imminent or even likely before any transfer window opens.
Much will depend on how Arsenal prioritise their targets in midfield and whether Inter's demands are considered reasonable relative to other options being tracked. Diouf's situation is one to watch, but at this point it remains firmly in the speculation stage rather than anything concrete.
