Arsenal have made a crucial decision regarding Sunday’s Premier League trophy parade, with organizers expecting unprecedented crowds of up to one million supporters to line the streets of north London.

The club and Metropolitan Police are preparing for at least 500,000 fans along the nine-kilometre route, though that figure could potentially double according to estimates from the Arsenal Supporters’ Trust.

Due to safety concerns surrounding such massive numbers, according to the Evening Standard, Arsenal have confirmed the parade will not feature a designated endpoint where players congregate to lift the Premier League trophy.

Instead, the route has been designed so supporters can enjoy the celebration equally from any position, preventing dangerous overcrowding in a single area. The Arsenal Supporters’ Trust explained this approach aims to ensure fans are evenly distributed across the entire nine-kilometre stretch.

Parade details confirmed

The victory parade will begin at 2pm BST on Sunday and is expected to last approximately two hours. Three open-top buses will carry the squad through north London, with Arsenal’s women’s team also participating to celebrate their FIFA Champions Cup triumph.

Arsenal will announce the exact route on Wednesday, though the club shop will remain closed during the celebrations to help manage crowd flow.

The scale of Sunday’s event is expected to dwarf the scenes witnessed outside the Emirates Stadium following Arsenal’s title confirmation. Tens of thousands of supporters gathered at the club’s home both on Tuesday evening when the championship was secured and again after the final match of the season.

Champions League final impact

The parade timing has drawn some criticism from supporters, particularly those planning to attend Saturday’s Champions League final against Paris Saint-Germain in Budapest. Many fans making the trip to Hungary will likely miss the domestic celebrations due to travel logistics.

However, the Arsenal Supporters’ Trust confirmed that authorities would not permit such a large-scale event on a working day, limiting the club’s scheduling options.

Should Arsenal complete the double by defeating PSG in the European showpiece, the Premier League trophy may not be the only silverware on display during Sunday’s parade.
