Arsenal Pursue Prolific Winger as Homegrown Talent Nears Exit

Gunners Eye Winger Viktor Tsygankov for Upgrade

Arsenal are heading into the summer transfer window with a clear focus on ending their 20-year Premier League title drought.

After pushing Manchester City to the wire this past season, taking the title race to the final day, Mikel Arteta’s men are determined to go one step further next year.

The club’s hierarchy recognises that the squad needs only minor adjustments to be in top contention again.

Strengthening the Right-Wing

One key area Arsenal are looking to bolster is their right-wing position to alleviate the workload on Bukayo Saka. Currently, Reiss Nelson serves as Saka’s backup.

However, according to reports from Football Insider, Arteta is prepared to sell the 24-year-old.

As a homegrown player, Nelson’s sale would be financially beneficial, as his transfer fee would be considered pure profit from a financial fair play perspective.

The funds from Nelson’s potential departure could be reinvested to secure a more robust option for the right-wing.

Tracking Viktor Tsygankov

Spanish outlet AS has reported that Arsenal are tracking Girona winger Viktor Tsygankov as a potential upgrade.

The Ukraine international has been instrumental for the City Group-owned Girona, helping them qualify for the Champions League this season.

Tsygankov’s impressive stats include eight goals and seven assists, making him an attractive prospect for the Gunners.

Tsygankov has a release clause of €30 million, a fee Arsenal would expect to recoup from Nelson’s sale.

However, the Gunners would face stiff competition from AC Milan in their pursuit of the 26-year-old winger.

The strategy to upgrade the right-wing position while selling Nelson demonstrates Arteta’s precise approach to strengthening the squad without major overhauls.

The club’s intention is clear: to fine-tune the team and give them the best chance to claim the Premier League title next season.

With the summer transfer window approaching, Arsenal fans will be keenly watching how these potential moves unfold, hopeful that the right additions can propel their team to the top of English football once again.
