A wide-ranging remit
Geissmar joined as Arsenal's first in-house lawyer and quickly became a fixture of the club's senior leadership. She headed up the Legal, Safeguarding and Data Protection department, a role that touched almost every corner of the club's operations, on the pitch and off it.
Her team was responsible for player contracts, transfers and loan deals, agent agreements, image rights and academy matters, as well as Arsenal's dealings with football's governing bodies. Beyond football matters, the department also provided legal support across stadium operations, broadcasting, sponsorship, retail, property, employment and dispute resolution.
Speaking previously to Arsenal.com about her early days at the club, Geissmar said:
