Arsenal Target £58m Forward in January to Boost Attack and Saka

Arsenal’s 2023/24 campaign has been a rollercoaster ride of fluctuating performances, with moments of brilliance juxtaposed against unexpected setbacks.

Despite this inconsistency, one player has consistently shone through: Bukayo Saka.

The 23-year-old has elevated his game, cementing his status as Arsenal’s most pivotal player.

Now, reports suggest the Gunners are targeting a January transfer for Juventus striker Dušan Vlahović, a move that could supercharge Saka’s contributions further.

According to Caught Offside, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is keen to bolster his attacking options by signing Serbian international Dušan Vlahović in the upcoming transfer window.

Juventus are reportedly valuing their star striker at €70m, or roughly £58m.

The pursuit of the Belgrade-born player will be anything but straightforward, as Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester City, Manchester United, and Chelsea are also monitoring the 23-year-old’s availability.

In contrast, Arsenal’s current options in the striker role—Gabriel Jesus and Kai Havertz—have been less effective.

Jesus has averaged one goal involvement every 2.37 games over the same period, while Havertz’s contribution stands at one every 2.79 games.

Both players, while valuable squad members, lack the clinical edge that Vlahović brings.

Adding a traditional number nine like Vlahović could also amplify Saka’s creative output.

The English winger, who has already recorded 12 assists in 21 appearances this season, would likely thrive with a striker capable of consistently converting chances.
