Arsenal are reportedly monitoring the situation of Real Madrid’s highly-rated youngster Arda Güler ahead of the January transfer window.

The 19-year-old, considered one of Europe’s brightest talents, is said to be increasingly frustrated with his limited opportunities at the Bernabéu following the summer arrival of Kylian Mbappé.

Güler’s Frustrations at Madrid

Güler’s dissatisfaction stems from a lack of consistent playing time.

Despite making 14 appearances this season, the Turkish international has started only five games and has contributed a single assist.

Madrid reportedly view him as a key part of their future but are open to a potential loan or even a permanent transfer with a buy-back clause to allow him to gain more experience elsewhere.

Arsenal, keen to bolster their attacking options, are believed to see Güler as a promising addition.

The Independent journalist Miguel Delaney has revealed that the Gunners are among the clubs interested in securing the youngster’s services, possibly on a temporary deal, as they gear up for the second half of the 2024–25 season.

Güler’s Versatility Could Strengthen Arsenal

The Turkish forward’s versatility is one of his standout qualities.

Capable of playing as a right winger, behind the striker, or even as a central forward, Güler could provide Mikel Arteta with valuable tactical flexibility.

With Arsenal already boasting quality in Leandro Trossard and Gabriel Martinelli, Güler would face competition for a starting spot but has the potential to push for regular minutes and add depth to the squad.

Güler’s performances on the international stage have been impressive.

He registered a goal and two assists in five games during the European Championship this past summer, and in the Nations League, he has tallied another goal and an assist across six matches.

Last season, he concluded his La Liga campaign with an impressive six goals in just ten appearances.

Following Odegaard’s Path

A move to Arsenal could see Güler follow a similar trajectory to Martin Ødegaard, who also struggled for playing time at Real Madrid before making a successful switch to North London.

Ødegaard initially joined Arsenal on loan in 2021 and has since established himself as the team’s captain and one of their most influential players.

For Arsenal, securing Güler would not only add attacking depth but also provide the youngster with a platform to showcase his potential.

His hunger to prove himself could make him a key asset in Arsenal’s push for silverware as they aim to remain competitive in both domestic and European competitions.

As January approaches, Arsenal’s interest in Güler will likely intensify.

A loan deal could prove mutually beneficial, giving the player the minutes he craves while offering Arsenal an exciting attacking option for the remainder of the season.
