Arsenal v Burnley- Team news and predicted line-up

Arsenal welcomes Burnley to the Emirates Stadium on Sunday evening in a bid to resurrect their league campaign.

The Gunners come into this match 15th in the table while Burnley is only three spots below Arsenal in the relegation zone.

Arsenal has lost three home games in a row in the league and have not lost four in a row since December of the 1959 season and will be hoping history does not repeat.

Team news

Arsenal

Nicolas Pepe was one of the few senior players involved midweek as Mikel Arteta swung the changes for the last Europa League group stage match.

Thomas Partey is expected to miss the next few games with a re-occurrence of his thigh injury although Mikel Arteta has stated it is not as bad as previously thought.

Sead Kolasinac, David Luiz, and Reiss Nelson are all listed as doubtful for the clash.

Aside from Gabriel Martinelli who is still on the comeback trail from his knee injury, Mikel Arteta almost has a full squad to choose from.

Burnley

For Burnley Jack Cork is out for the clash at the Emirates while Robbie Brady and Dale Stephens are listed as doubtful, although Brady will be assessed ahead of kick-off.

Goals have been hard to come by for Arsenal in the Premier League and there has been much conjecture as to whether Mikel Arteta could potentially drop captain Pierre Emerick Aubameyang for the clash after he labelled no one in the side as “undroppable”.

It would be a huge decision for Arteta to make as Aubameyang has made a habit of scoring against Burnley as the Gabon striker has scored seven goals in just five matches against Burnley and many Arsenal fans will be hoping that he adds to his tally on Sunday evening.

The Gunners have been disappointing so far this year, only taking a solitary point from their last 12 available in the league and have lost three on the bounce at home.

Burnley, like Arsenal, have struggled mightily in the league as well and have never even left the Emirates with a point so expect Arsenal to flip the form book and get a much needed three points in what could potentially kick start their league campaign.

Predicted XI: Leno, Bellerin, Gabriel, Holding, Tierney, Ceballos, Xhaka, Lacazette, Willian, Aubameyang, Saka.
