Arsenal are waiting to determine whether a European giant will allow one world class forward to leave on loan this summer.

Arsenal are waiting to see if Real Madrid will sanction a loan deal for Rodrygo Goes this summer, and are monitoring the Brazilian’s situation at the Santiago Bernabéu, according to The Times.

The 24-year-old started just 22 Real Madrid’s 37 LaLiga games last season under Carlo Ancelotti, and converted six goals and assists respectively across all competitions.

Real Madrid have set a valuation of €80-100 million for any permanent transfer, with the Brazilian having three years remaining on his contract with Los Blancos.

Arsenal have completed several major signings this summer. Major deals include Viktor Gyökeres joining from Sporting Lisbon for £55 million, Martin Zubimendi arriving from Real Sociedad for £60 million, and Noni Madueke moving from Chelsea for £48.5 million.

However, the Gunners seemingly haven’t concluded business for the summer just yet, with Crystal Palace’s Eberechi Eze still being targeted by the Gunners. On top of this, Mikel Arteta is still keen to sign a left-winger to create a more direct attack, with the Gunners keen on the likes of Rodrygo and Anthony Gordon.

The Brazilian is in high demand this summer however, with Premier League rivals such as Liverpool, Chelsea, and Tottenham Hotspur all monitoring Rodrygo’s situation. Champions League winners Paris Saint-Germain have also reportedly shown interest in the winger.

Xabi Alonso replaced Carlo Ancelotti as Real Madrid manager this summer, and Rodrygo has since had limited opportunities during Madrid’s FIFA Club World Cup campaign.

The winger and his camp held a meeting with the Spaniard, and while the club have concluded they are happy to part ways for a reasonable price, Rodrygo is still keen to fight for his place in a star-studded attack.

Arsenal kick-off their Premier League campaign with a trip to Old Trafford to face Manchester United next weekend, and it remains unknown if they will travel with a further bolstered attack.
