Arsenal’s Title Drive Boosted by In-Form Star and Transfer Talks

Arsenal are hoping that this season will finally see them lift the Premier League trophy for the first time since their famous “Invincibles” campaign in 2003/04.

Mikel Arteta’s side narrowly missed out in recent years, finishing just five points behind Manchester City in 2022/23 and falling short by two points last season, despite leading the table for much of the campaign.

To bolster their chances, Arsenal made several key signings over the summer transfer window, adding depth and quality across the squad.

Notable acquisitions include Riccardo Calafiori and Mikel Merino, who both impressed during Euro 2024.

Merino, however, has struggled with injury and has only managed two substitute appearances since joining the Gunners.

Despite the new arrivals, it is a familiar face from last season who continues to shine for the North London club.

Havertz Shining in 2024/25

Kai Havertz, who joined Arsenal last summer from Chelsea for £65 million, has carried his impressive form from last season into the current campaign.

After a strong debut season with 21 goals and assists, the 25-year-old German midfielder has continued to prove his worth under Arteta.

In just ten matches so far this season, Havertz has already registered six goals and one assist, making him one of the team’s standout players.

His contributions have been second only to Bukayo Saka, with Havertz now scoring in seven consecutive matches at the Emirates Stadium.

Initially, there were doubts about Havertz’s ability to succeed after a mixed spell at Chelsea, but his resurgence at Arsenal has silenced critics.

Arteta’s decision to bring him in has paid off, with Havertz now a key figure in Arsenal’s attack.

His partnership with Saka and others has helped maintain the club’s strong start to the season.

Arsenal Enter Race for Leroy Sane

As Arsenal continue their push for a Premier League title, they are also eyeing further reinforcements in the January transfer window.

One of the key targets is Bayern Munich winger Leroy Sane, who has caught the attention of both Arsenal and Newcastle United.

Sane, a 28-year-old winger, has been compared to legendary Arsenal forward Thierry Henry by football pundit Rio Ferdinand.

Despite his talents, Sane’s time at Bayern has been inconsistent, and with his contract expiring next summer, the German club could be forced to sell him for a reduced fee in January rather than risk losing him for free.

Sane has scored 49 goals in 179 appearances for Bayern since joining the Bundesliga giants in 2020 for £55 million.

However, he has struggled for game time this season, playing just 32 minutes in the league.

His current market value stands at £50 million, but a deal in January could see him leave for much less.

If Arsenal can secure his signature, Sane would add significant quality and depth to the squad, particularly in attacking areas.

Although he may not displace Saka from the starting lineup, his speed and skill could be a valuable asset as Arsenal chase both domestic and European success.

With Havertz already playing a pivotal role in Arsenal’s resurgence, the addition of Sane could create a formidable attacking partnership and help push Arteta’s side towards ending their 20-year wait for a Premier League title.
