Aston Villa vs Arsenal – Match Preview

Arteta and Co travel to relegation battlers Aston Villa tonight in a game that the home side almost certainly have to win to have any real chance for remaining in the Premier League. Aston Villa have just won just once in their last 6 home games and that win was last time they played at home in a 2-0 win over Crystal Palace. Dean Smith’s side will have to be at their best tonight and will hope that talisman Jack Grealish can work his magic.

Arsenal are on the back of a truly superb performance in the FA Cup Semi final win over Manchester City where every Arsenal player put in a shift, which is that Arsenal fans want to see. Tonight, however, is going to a very different affair as Villa are desperate for a win. The last time these two teams met was back in September and Villa were absolutely fantastic and were a tad unlucky not to get at least a point from the game but it was a late Aubameyang free kick that made it 3-2 that gave Arsenal the three points.

It is going to be an interesting game tonight because Villa will be desperate for a win as if they do then the relegation battle will go to the final game of the season where they travel to West Ham. We have qualification for the Europa League in our own hands but with a win here it takes the blagging rights of North London to the final day where we host Watford.
