This comes as reports from Kronen Zeitung reveal that the Austrian club is actively engaged in talks with Arsenal, aiming to bolster their squad ahead of the new season.

Schicker’s Persistence Amid Arsenal’s Resistance

Schicker, despite the fact that Sturm Graz’s players are on holiday until June 21st, is working tirelessly behind the scenes to strengthen the team.

Negotiations with Arsenal regarding Biereth are reportedly well underway, having initially commenced in March when the player was on loan.

Biereth, who enjoyed a successful loan spell in Austria last season with 15 goals and nine assists in 37 games, has caught the eye of Sturm Graz.

The club expressed a strong desire to make the striker’s move permanent, but Arsenal initially declined to entertain the idea.

Instead, the Gunners have plans to include Biereth in their US tour.

Champions League Football as a Key Advantage

Undeterred, Schicker has renewed his efforts to bring Biereth back to Austria.

He emphasised the need for patience in the current transfer window, especially with the European Championship finals approaching.

“Now the European Championship finals are coming up, everyone is waiting and is in the role of observer. Patience is required in the transfer window this year,” he said.

“I’m in talks with Arsenal. I’ve spoken to Mika; he’s always felt comfortable with us.”

The pursuit of Biereth is heating up, with Sheffield Wednesday also expressing interest in the young striker.

However, Sturm Graz hold a significant advantage in offering Champions League football, which could be a decisive factor for Biereth.

Arsenal Resistant on Dealing Mika Biereth Away

Additionally, Biereth’s contract situation at Arsenal adds another layer of intrigue.

With just a year left on his current deal and yet to receive a professional salary in London, a move could be financially appealing for him and more manageable for Sturm Graz.

Sturm Graz are keen to capitalise on these factors, urging Arsenal to enter serious discussions about the striker’s future.

Although Arsenal have so far been resistant, Schicker’s persistence and the club’s Champions League allure could sway the decision in their favour.

As the transfer window progresses, the next few weeks will be crucial in determining whether Biereth will remain with Arsenal or make a permanent move to Sturm Graz.
