According to reports, the German midfielder has agreed to join Fenerbahce, however, nothing was confirmed by the team’s coach.

Erol Bulut has spoken about the possibility of his side signing Mesut Ozil from Arsenal.

According to Sport1 in Germany, there are indications that Ozil is close to finalizing a deal that would send him to the Turkish side after talks continued this week. Ozil has reportedly signed a three-and-a-half-year deal with the Turkish giants.

Speaking to Bein Sports, Bulut did not confirm or deny the reports that Ozil could be linking up with his side shortly.

Speaking after his sides 2-1 win over Alanyaspor Bulut said:

“Mesut Ozil’s situation will become clear in the coming days,” he said

“Mesut’s name is very common. It is not possible for me to make a comment before he comes.”

Erkut Sogut who is Ozil’s agent spoke to ESPN on Wednesday and stated that nothing is finalized yet and that his client’s future is still not decided. Ozil’s contract officially expires at the end of the season and the former Real Madrid playmaker is now free to talk to clubs regarding a transfer.

Sogut said:

“We were not allowed to talk legally before Jan 1 so now we are just starting to look at the options with the numbers and details,” he said.

“He might stay at Arsenal until the summer but he might go. Mesut’s priority is to stay but you never know in football, things can change very fast. For the moment, we are just checking all the options for January and the summer.

“If we want to leave in January, I need to talk to Arsenal. If we sign for the summer, we don’t need to. That’s the situation. In the next seven to ten days, it will be a little clearer as now the transfer window is open, things can move faster.”

Gunners boss Mikel Arteta spoke to reporters on Thursday and stated that unless a good offer comes in for the Arsenal outcast, he will remain with his squad.

“If something is sorted this month it is because it is good for both parties – for Mesut and his future and good for the club,” Arteta said.

“If that is the case we will move forward, if it is not the case then he will continue here.”

It seems that the messy Mesut Ozil saga at Arsenal could finally be coming to an end.
