Peruvian defender Oliver Sonne has set his sights on a potential move to Arsenal, expressing his aspirations in a recent interview.
Sonne, 23, began his football journey in Denmark and has been honing his skills with Danish outfit Silkeborg IF since 2021.
This season, he has showcased his talent as a right-back, netting three goals and providing four assists in 31 appearances.

Sonne’s contract with Silkeborg runs until 2026, but reports from Tipsbladet suggest that he could seek a move to a top-tier club during the summer transfer window.
In his discussions with Pase Filtrado, Sonne disclosed his desire to explore new opportunities, particularly mentioning Arsenal and Serie A as potential destinations.
“I have been here for three years, and there are times when you want to try new things,” Sonne remarked.
When quizzed about his preferred league or club, he singled out Arsenal, expressing his admiration for Mikel Arteta’s team.
“I would like to play in the Italian league or at Arsenal. It would be a dream of mine, but I don’t know if it’s possible at the moment. I hope it can become a reality one day,” he added.
Arsenal’s Defensive Line
At present, Ben White holds the reins as Arsenal’s primary right-back, supported by Takehiro Tomiyasu.
Additionally, Cédric Soares is part of the squad, although his contract is set to expire in June.
While Sonne’s ambitions align with Arsenal, it seems unlikely that the club will prioritize reinforcing the right-back position in the upcoming transfer window.
This situation may mean that Sonne has to bide his time before his dreams of joining Arsenal can materialize, allowing him the opportunity to further develop his skills in the meantime.
