Harry Kane did not hold back when assessing Arsenal's performance after Bayern Munich's 2-2 draw with the Gunners in the Champions League on Wednesday night, admitting the result at the Allianz Arena was a fair reflection of the contest.

Goals from Alphonso Davies and Kane himself were cancelled out by Eberechi Eze and Declan Rice as the two European heavyweights shared the spoils in a frantic clash. Speaking to DAZN at full time, the England captain and former Tottenham forward praised Arsenal's intensity, particularly after the break.

Who's out, who's back and what it means for the next two games.

"I thought it was a good performance. I think for large spells of the game, especially the start of the second half, we had a real intensity," Kane said. "We looked dangerous, we got the goal and we had a moment to kill the game off. We had the momentum, they looked tired, but then we got caught in a low block for the final 15 minutes and they punished us with the goal."

Kane went on to admit that Bayern could have been more ruthless in front of goal, while also referencing Arsenal's current absentees. "The draw was probably a fair result overall. I think we could have been a bit more clinical in the final third. But there are a lot of games, we've got a lot of players with injuries who are missing tonight. In the end, we'll take the point and move on," he added.

Bischof echoes Kane's respect for Arsenal

Kane's assessment was shared by teammate Tom Bischof, who also spoke glowingly of Mikel Arteta's side after the match, as reported by football.london.

"When you take the lead late, it's disappointing to not take three points. We had good phases in the second half, settled in up front, but Arsenal are a good team. They applied pressure and got their goal," Bischof said. "This wasn't just any opponent. We maybe needed to be a little more disruptive and annoying in the challenges as well as clever."

Kane also pointed to the physical nature of the encounter, noting how Arsenal coped with Bayern's approach for the majority of the game. "It was a battle. Every duel was important. They look for the second balls and build from there into the game. I thought we dealt with that for most of the game pretty well," he said, before adding that Bayern grew into the contest as it opened up late on.

The draw leaves both sides with a point apiece from a high profile European meeting, with Arsenal set to take the positives from a difficult trip to Munich despite the absences Kane referenced. Arteta's side will look to build on that European showing as the season progresses on multiple fronts.
