Kane admits Arsenal draw was 'fair result' as Bischof says Gunners 'not just any opponent'

Harry Kane conceded that Bayern Munich did not deserve to beat Arsenal on Wednesday night, admitting a 2-2 draw in the Champions League was a fair outcome at the Allianz Arena.
Alphonso Davies and Kane put Bayern ahead on two separate occasions, but Eberechi Eze and Declan Rice found answers both times to secure a point for Mikel Arteta's side in Munich. It was a game played at a frantic pace, with both teams enjoying spells of control before the match was eventually shared.

Speaking to DAZN after the final whistle, Kane was complimentary of Arsenal's performance despite his own goal on the night. "I thought it was a good performance. I think for large spells of the game, especially the start of the second half, we had a real intensity," he said.
"We looked dangerous, we got the goal and we had a moment to kill the game off. We had the momentum, they looked tired, but then we got caught in a low block for the final 15 minutes and they punished us with the goal."
The former Tottenham striker, who left the Premier League for Bayern in 2023, went on to acknowledge Arsenal's defensive resilience even with injuries in the squad. "The draw was probably a fair result overall. I think we could have been a bit more clinical in the final third. But there are a lot of games, we've got a lot of players with injuries who are missing tonight. In the end, we'll take the point and move on."
Bischof echoes Kane's praise
Kane's assessment was shared by teammate Tom Bischof, who also spoke about the difficulty of breaking Arsenal down. "When you take the lead late, it's disappointing to not take three points. We had good phases in the second half, settled in up front, but Arsenal are a good team. They applied pressure and got their goal," Bischof said.
"This wasn't just any opponent. We maybe needed to be a little more disruptive and annoying in the challenges as well as clever."
Kane also pointed to the physical nature of the contest as the game stretched out in the closing stages. "It was a battle. Every duel was important. They look for the second balls and build from there into the game. I thought we dealt with that for most of the game pretty well. As the game got a little stretched towards the end, they grew into it and they're a good physical team. Like I said, with the games we're playing, it's about every little detail. We probably didn't get enough right to deserve the win."
A point to build on
The draw leaves Arsenal unbeaten against one of the Champions League's traditional heavyweights, with the comments from both Kane and Bischof serving as an acknowledgment of the levels Arteta's side are now operating at in Europe. Arsenal will look to carry that momentum into their next fixtures as the Champions League campaign continues.
