Harry Kane conceded that Bayern Munich did not deserve to beat Arsenal, describing Wednesday's 2-2 Champions League draw at the Allianz Arena as a 'fair result' despite his side twice taking the lead.

Goals from Alphonso Davies and Kane put Bayern ahead on two separate occasions, only for Eberechi Eze and Declan Rice to drag Arsenal level each time in a frantic encounter in Munich. The result leaves both sides unbeaten in this season's competition heading into the next round of fixtures.

Who's out, who's back and what it means for the next two games.

Speaking to DAZN after the final whistle, Kane praised Arsenal's performance and pointed to his own side's inability to find a killer touch in the final third. 'I thought it was a good performance. I think for large spells of the game, especially the start of the second half, we had a real intensity,' he said.

'We looked dangerous, we got the goal and we had a moment to kill the game off. We had the momentum, they looked tired, but then we got caught in a low block for the final 15 minutes and they punished us with the goal.'

The England captain, who left Tottenham for Bayern in 2023, acknowledged that Arsenal were missing key personnel through injury but still made life difficult for the hosts. 'The draw was probably a fair result overall. I think we could have been a bit more clinical in the final third. But there are a lot of games, we've got a lot of players with injuries who are missing tonight. In the end, we'll take the point and move on,' Kane added.

He also highlighted the physical nature of the contest, with both sides battling for second balls throughout. 'It was a battle. Every duel was important. They look for the second balls and build from there into the game. I thought we dealt with that for most of the game pretty well,' Kane said, before conceding, 'We probably didn't get enough right to deserve the win.'

Bischof echoes Kane's assessment

Bayern midfielder Tom Bischof was similarly complimentary of Arsenal's performance, admitting the north London side proved to be stern opposition even after Bayern had taken a late lead. 'When you take the lead late, it's disappointing to not take three points. We had good phases in the second half, settled in up front, but Arsenal are a good team. They applied pressure and got their goal,' he said, as reported by football.london.

'This wasn't just any opponent. We maybe needed to be a little more disruptive and annoying in the challenges as well as clever,' Bischof added.

Arsenal will look to build on the resilience shown in Munich as the Champions League campaign continues, with Mikel Arteta's squad still managing a number of injury absentees heading into the coming weeks.
