Kane admits Bayern 'didn't deserve' win over Arsenal in 2-2 thriller

Harry Kane admitted Bayern Munich 'probably didn't get enough right to deserve the win' after Arsenal fought back to draw 2-2 at the Allianz Arena in the Champions League on Wednesday night.
Alphonso Davies and Kane put the hosts in control, but Eberechi Eze and Declan Rice struck for Arsenal to secure a point in Munich. The result leaves both sides with plenty to reflect on, but it was Bayern's forward line that was left conceding credit to Mikel Arteta's side afterwards.

Speaking to DAZN at full time, Kane praised Arsenal's second half performance and pointed to the visitors' depleted squad as a factor in how competitive the game was. 'I thought it was a good performance. I think for large spells of the game, especially the start of the second half, we had a real intensity,' he said.
'We looked dangerous, we got the goal and we had a moment to kill the game off. We had the momentum, they looked tired, but then we got caught in a low block for the final 15 minutes and they punished us with the goal.'
The former Tottenham striker went on to acknowledge Arsenal's injury situation was clearly visible even from the opposite dugout. 'The draw was probably a fair result overall. I think we could have been a bit more clinical in the final third. But there are a lot of games, we've got a lot of players with injuries who are missing tonight. In the end, we'll take the point and move on,' Kane added.
Bischof echoes Kane's respect for Arsenal
Kane's view was shared by teammate Tom Bischof, who said Bayern had underestimated the physical and tactical challenge Arsenal posed throughout the match. 'When you take the lead late, it's disappointing to not take three points. We had good phases in the second half, settled in up front, but Arsenal are a good team. They applied pressure and got their goal,' Bischof said, as football.london reported.
'This wasn't just any opponent. We maybe needed to be a little more disruptive and annoying in the challenges as well as clever,' he added.
Kane also highlighted the physical nature of the contest, describing it as 'a battle' where 'every duel was important,' and noted that Arsenal coped well with Bayern's approach for the majority of the 90 minutes before the game stretched late on.
A statement result despite the absentees
For Arsenal, a draw away at one of European football's traditional heavyweights, achieved without a number of first team players available, will be viewed as a solid return in the Champions League. The comments from two Bayern players suggest the result was earned rather than fortunate, with Arsenal's second half showing clearly leaving an impression inside the Allianz Arena.
Attention now turns to how Arteta's squad recovers in time for their next assignments, with the injury situation referenced by Kane likely to remain a talking point in the coming days.
