Key Winger Forced Off in FA Cup Tie Amid Fresh Arsenal Injury Scare

Arsenal have been hit with another injury concern after Leandro Trossard was forced off in the first half of Saturday’s FA Cup tie against Mansfield Town.
The Belgian winger went down at the One Call Stadium and required treatment from our medical staff before being helped to his feet and replaced by Piero Hincapie shortly before half-time.
Timing Could Not Be Worse
The injury comes at a crucial time for Arsenal, with our Champions League last-16 first-leg against Bayer Leverkusen looming on Wednesday night. Trossard is now a serious doubt for that massive European clash.

Mikel Arteta had named a very attack-minded lineup against the League Two side, resting key players like Bukayo Saka, Declan Rice, and Martin Odegaard. Trossard’s early withdrawal disrupted those plans, though we did manage to find a breakthrough three minutes after the substitution when Noni Madueke fired into the top corner.
Injury List Continues to Grow
According to the Evening Standard, we’re already without several key players for today’s FA Cup tie. William Saliba, Martin Odegaard, Mikel Merino, and Ben White were all unavailable for selection.
The manager confirmed that Saliba’s ankle injury – picked up during last weekend’s win over Chelsea – is a separate issue from the one he sustained earlier in the season.
“No, it’s the other one,” Arteta explained. “We thought the same straight after the game because he wasn’t comfortable to finish the game. After straightaway he didn’t have a good feeling so let’s see if he recovers quickly.”
European Concerns
With our squad already stretched thin, losing Trossard for any length of time would be a significant blow. The 31-year-old has been an important rotation option this season, providing pace and creativity from wide areas.
Arteta is expected to provide a more detailed update on Trossard’s condition in his post-match press conference, but the sight of him needing assistance off the pitch will be concerning for all Arsenal fans.
Can we navigate this latest injury setback and maintain our momentum across multiple competitions? The next few days will be crucial in determining how serious this latest blow really is.
