Arsenal's interest in RB Leipzig winger Antonio Nusa could be boosted by an unlikely recruiter: Martin Odegaard. According to Caught Offside, the Norway captain could play a role in helping convince his international teammate to make the move to north London.

Nusa has impressed since joining Leipzig and has continued that form on the international stage, where he has been a key part of Norway's World Cup campaign. His rising profile has made him an attractive target for clubs looking to add pace and depth out wide.

Why Arsenal want Nusa

Arsenal are said to have tracked Nusa for several months and view him as a player capable of strengthening their options on the left flank. The need for another winger has become more apparent following Christos Tzolis' injury, and had a deal for Nusa been completed in the summer, he could have provided cover during that absence.

That opportunity has passed, but the report suggests Arsenal will have another chance to move for the Norwegian in the next transfer window. The Gunners are not thought to be alone in their interest, however, with competition for his signature potentially complicating any negotiations.

Odegaard's role in the pursuit

Odegaard and Nusa are both established figures within the Norway setup, with Odegaard serving as captain of the national team. That relationship, according to the report, could give Arsenal a useful advantage when it comes to selling their project to the 21 year old.

The theory goes that Odegaard would be well placed to speak to Nusa about life at Arsenal and what he could expect from a move to the Emirates, given their shared international dressing room. There is, of course, no guarantee that any such conversation would sway Nusa's decision, with Leipzig's valuation and interest from elsewhere likely to play just as significant a role.

If Arsenal do move for Nusa, his pace and directness would offer Arteta another attacking option as the club continues to compete on multiple fronts. Adding a player of his profile would also give the manager greater flexibility to rotate across the forward line.

Whether Arsenal can turn interest into a concrete deal will depend on reaching an agreement with Leipzig and persuading Nusa that north London represents the right next step in his career. For now, the Norwegian remains one of several names on Arsenal's radar as they look to address their options out wide.
