Arsenal could be in for a transfer tussle with Manchester United as goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale reportedly considers leaving the Gunners due to limited playing time under manager Mikel Arteta.

Ramsdale, who signed a new deal with Arsenal last summer, had previously expressed his commitment to staying and avoiding further moves in his career.

However, with David Raya establishing himself as Arteta’s first-choice goalkeeper, Ramsdale has found himself on the bench more often than not, leading to frustration and a reevaluation of his future at the club.

Newcastle is back in the game

Newcastle have renewed their interest in Aaron Ramsdale, considering a summer transfer to provide him with regular playing time.

Ramsdale, eager for consistent football, is evaluating his choices, and Newcastle stands out among potential suitors as they aim to strengthen their squad.

According to reports from the Daily Mail, Ramsdale is now open to the idea of departing Arsenal in the upcoming summer transfer window.

This change in stance has piqued the interest of clubs like Newcastle United, where former Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe is keen to reunite with the talented shot-stopper.

Newcastle’s goalkeeping situation has been a topic of discussion, with Martin Dubravka and Nick Pope, both in their thirties, currently occupying the position.

The Magpies see Ramsdale as a younger option who can provide stability and a long-term solution in goal.

Interestingly, Ramsdale’s potential departure from Arsenal could trigger a domino effect in the transfer market.

Schulte on Radar

Schulte, who has impressed since being drafted into the MLS, has also attracted interest from Manchester United.

Schulte’s contract with the Crew expires in 2024, making him an affordable option for both Arsenal and United.

However, Arsenal might face stiff competition from their Premier League rivals, who are monitoring Schulte’s development closely.

If Ramsdale does leave Arsenal, it would likely solidify Raya’s position as the first-choice goalkeeper.

Raya has been a standout performer for the Gunners, particularly in their recent Champions League campaign.

He played a crucial role in securing a quarter-final spot with a penalty shootout victory over Porto.

With the summer transfer window approaching, Arsenal and Manchester United are set to be at the forefront of goalkeeper movements.
