Max Dowman's search for regular first team football is attracting plenty of attention beyond Ibrox. Rangers have been tracking the 16 year old with a view to a loan move for the second half of the season, but Celtic and a number of English clubs are now reportedly in the race as well.

The teenager is highly rated inside Arsenal, but finding consistent minutes has proven difficult given the form of established forwards such as Bukayo Saka. With the Gunners focused on defending their Premier League title and competing on multiple fronts, Mikel Arteta has limited scope to experiment with youth in the biggest fixtures.

Interest growing in Dowman

According to Football Insider, interest in Dowman is intensifying, with more clubs entering the conversation around a potential loan. The report suggests several English sides have joined Rangers and Celtic in showing interest, which would give Arsenal a wider range of options if they decide a temporary exit is the right path.

That expanding list of suitors could complicate things for Rangers specifically. While the Scottish club remain keen to bring Dowman to Ibrox, the emergence of Premier League or Championship interest from England may ultimately appeal more to Arsenal when it comes to monitoring his progress and development up close.

Weighing up the next step

A loan would give Dowman the kind of regular senior football he is unlikely to get at Emirates Stadium this season, allowing him to build experience and adapt to first team demands without severing ties with Arsenal. For a player of his age, consistent minutes matter more than training alongside senior professionals without playing time to match.

Arsenal, though, will have to balance that logic against the benefits of keeping him close, inside a club environment built specifically around developing him. Any final decision is likely to hinge on which destination offers the clearest pathway to regular football, rather than reputation alone.

For now, nothing is close to being finalised. Rangers remain interested, Celtic have been credited with interest too, and the growing list of English suitors suggests Arsenal will have no shortage of offers to consider before January. Where Dowman ultimately spends the second half of the season will likely come down to which project convinces Arsenal he will play the most consistent, meaningful football.
