Expressing his excitement about the contract extension, Tomiyasu stated, “I am so happy to extend my contract because Arsenal is the best club in the world. It’s a dream to play for this club, so I’m happy.”

The 25-year-old defender emphasized the strong connection he feels with the Arsenal supporters, acknowledging the energy and love they bring to the games.

He expressed his dedication to giving back to the fans who have shown him immense support throughout his time at the club.

Looking ahead, Tomiyasu is eager to unlock his full potential and contribute even more to Arsenal’s success.

Despite being one of the older players in a youthful squad, he remains determined to improve and help the team achieve its goals.

Tomiyasu’s Role in Arsenal’s Rise to Success

Reflecting on Arsenal’s progress since his arrival, Tomiyasu noted, “I think we have improved a lot because when I joined, we were not playing in a European competition but now we are playing in the Champions League and we are in the title race.”

He also highlighted the competitive environment at Arsenal, where he learns from experienced defenders and strives to become a better player with each game.

“We’ve got so many great players. I’m playing as a full-back at Arsenal but when I’m playing with the national team I am playing at centre-half so I am learning from the Arsenal defenders,” he said.

“They’re so good, there’s a big competition between the players but it’s a good environment to be a better player so I’m happy to be here.”

With Arsenal currently leading the Premier League and competing in the Champions League quarter-finals, Tomiyasu’s commitment and ambition bode well for the club’s future success.

“I am not young any more! When you’re playing at Arsenal we’ve got a lot of young players and I’m getting older! I want to achieve something with my teammates and the supporters.”
