Havertz Shines, But Is It Enough?
Arsenal’s recent victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers showcased a dominant performance, particularly from Bukayo Saka, who impressed both fans and pundits, including Alan Shearer.
Despite this strong showing, questions remain about Arsenal’s goal-scoring capabilities as the season progresses.
Kai Havertz, however, appears ready to answer those concerns.
The 25-year-old forward was in excellent form against Wolves, mirroring his standout displays for Germany during the Euros.
Havertz, known for his ability to drop deep and link up play, demonstrated his prowess as a traditional number nine, particularly with his goal, which highlighted the guile that many believe Arsenal needs at the front.
Last season, Havertz scored 13 goals in the Premier League, his best tally to date.
With the potential to play the entire season in a central attacking role, there’s optimism that he could surpass that record, further solidifying his place as Arsenal’s main striker.
Ivan Toney’s Agent Keen on Arsenal Move
In the ongoing discussion of the attacking options for Arsenal, Ivan Toney has frequently mentioned.
The Brentford striker was notably absent from his team’s squad in their win against Crystal Palace, fueling speculation about his future.
Toney, who has been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia, is also being touted as a potential addition to Arsenal’s lineup.
Former Premier League manager Alan Pardew recently revealed on talkSPORT that Toney’s agent is eager to see the England international join the Gunners.
“I know Toney’s agent personally, and I think he would like the boy to go to Arsenal,” Pardew shared.
“There’s a bit of insight. I know that he thought that might be a good fit for the boy when I had a discussion.”
Despite this insight, it remains uncertain whether Arsenal will pursue Toney or any other striker this summer.
With Gabriel Jesus already in the squad as a capable backup for Havertz, Arsenal might prioritize strengthening other areas, potentially adding a wide-forward instead.
In the weeks ahead, it will be interesting to see if Arteta opts for additional firepower or trusts in his current attacking lineup to deliver the goals needed for a successful campaign.
