As the transfer window nears its close, Arsenal are actively exploring late opportunities to strengthen their squad.

Among the potential targets is Bayern Munich’s Kingsley Coman, with the Gunners also keeping a keen eye on Athletic Bilbao’s Nico Williams.

Both players have been linked with a move to the Emirates as Mikel Arteta looks to bolster his attacking options.

Kingsley Coman on Arsenal’s Radar

In the final days of the transfer window, Arsenal are considering a move for Kingsley Coman, the £200,000-per-week Bayern Munich winger.

According to sources like GiveMeSport, Coman has been offered to Arsenal, and the club is weighing their options.

Mikel Arteta, who already has a strong lineup of wide players including Gabriel Martinelli, Leandro Trossard, Reiss Nelson, Kai Havertz, and Bukayo Saka, might still be interested in adding another winger to his squad.

Fabrizio Romano, a well-respected journalist, noted on the Men in Blazers podcast that Arsenal are focusing on signing a winger rather than a central striker.

Despite initial concerns about Gabriel Jesus’ injury, it appears that the forward’s situation is more positive than initially feared.

“The idea of Arsenal is to sign a winger rather than a number nine, looking at a last-minute opportunity on the market,” Romano said.

Arsenal’s Interest in Nico Williams

Another player on Arsenal’s radar is Athletic Bilbao’s Nico Williams.

Nico Williams
Nico Williams is top of Mikel Arteta’s list of players ahead of Deadline Day tomorow, but finances involved make it difficult.

Journalist Dean Jones revealed on the Ranks FC Ultras podcast that Arsenal are highly interested in the young forward, who has shown great promise in recent performances, including at the Euros where he starred for Spain.

However, Williams’ preference for a move to Barcelona could complicate Arsenal’s pursuit.

“Nico Williams, they still love up to right now. I think they would sign Nico Williams tomorrow if they could. There are problems more around his wages than an actual transfer fee that would be needed,” Jones explained.

Despite Williams’ apparent interest in joining Barcelona, Arsenal are hopeful that a deal could still be reached before the transfer deadline.

Busy Week at the Emirates

The potential signings of Coman and Williams come at a time when Arsenal are also addressing other key positions.

With Aaron Ramsdale’s departure imminent, the Gunners have submitted a bid for Espanyol keeper Joan Garcia.

However, Espanyol is demanding that Arsenal meet the full £26 million release clause for the young goalkeeper, leaving the North London club to consider their budget carefully as they approach the transfer deadline.

In addition, Arsenal have already secured the signing of Mikel Merino, who will wear the number 23 shirt and is expected to make his Premier League debut soon.

The club’s activity in the transfer market highlights their commitment to strengthening the squad as they prepare for a demanding season ahead.

As the clock ticks down, Arsenal fans will be eagerly watching to see if any of these last-minute moves materialize, adding further depth and quality to Arteta’s side.
