Arsenal have reportedly joined the race for Stuttgart striker Sehrou Guirassy, who has expressed his desire to depart from the German club this summer.

The 28-year-old had an outstanding season in the Bundesliga, scoring 28 goals in 28 league matches and providing two assists.

Stuttgart had a remarkable season, finishing second in the Bundesliga, above the usual champions, Bayern Munich, who struggled in the 2023-24 season.

Since his permanent move from French side Rennes to Stuttgart in the summer of 2023, the Guinea international has scored 30 goals across all competitions.

Unsurprisingly, Guirassy is a regular fixture for his national team, recently participating in World Cup qualifiers against Mozambique and Algeria.

Sehrou Guirassy May Leave Before Transfer Window Closes

According to German journalist Florian Plettenberg, Guirassy’s two-year tenure at Stuttgart may conclude before the summer transfer window closes.

The report suggests that the 28-year-old is seeking a new challenge and wishes to leave the MHP Arena-based club, even though Stuttgart will compete in the Champions League next season.

Despite the team’s upcoming European campaign, Guirassy is keen on exploring new opportunities, attracting interest from several clubs.

After finishing second in the Premier League last season behind Manchester City, Arsenal are pursuing Guirassy to bolster their attacking options at the Emirates.

Borussia Dortmund and AC Milan are also reportedly keen on the Guinea international, who has made up his mind to seek a transfer this summer.

Chelsea Out of the Race and Arsenal’s Forward Options

The report also mentions that Arsenal’s London rivals, Chelsea, are not in contention for Guirassy’s signature.

The Gunners have been linked with several strikers recently, including RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko, who is currently with Slovenia at Euro 2024.

However, Sesko ended speculation about a move to North London by signing a new deal with Leipzig for the 2024-25 season.

Mikel Arteta’s side has also been monitoring the situations of Newcastle United’s Alexander Isak and Bologna’s Joshua Zirkzee, with the latter seemingly set for a move to Manchester United.
