Under Mikel Arteta’s leadership, Arsenal aims to bolster their squad after a close race for the Premier League title last season.

While signing a new centre-forward is a priority, reinforcing the defence is equally crucial.

Geertruida’s ability to play as a full-back, centre-back, and defensive midfielder makes him an ideal fit for Arteta’s tactical needs.

Impressive Track Record: Lutsharel Geertruida

Geertruida has been a key player for Feyenoord, scoring 11 goals and providing 24 assists in 198 appearances.

His accolades include winning the Eredivisie and two KNVB-Beker trophies, cementing his status as a rising star in European football.

However, Arsenal is not the only club who is interested in acquiring the service of Geertruida.

Liverpool’s interest in Geertruida is driven by their new manager, Arne Slot, who previously oversaw the defender’s development at Feyenoord.

Liverpool views Geertruida as a valuable addition to their defence, offering tactical versatility.

Like Arsenal and Liverpool, PSG, known for their financial strength, are also eager to sign Geertruida and are prepared to outbid their English rivals.

Contract and Transfer Prospects

With only one year left on his contract, this summer is a critical time for Geertruida’s potential transfer.

His estimated value is around €32 million, reflecting his talent and potential despite limited experience outside the Dutch league.

His selection for the Dutch squad at Euro 2024 underscores his growing prominence.

So far, he has played 17 minutes in the tournament, appearing as a substitute in a goalless draw against France.

Any decisions regarding Geertruida’s future will likely be postponed until after Euro 2024, where he has the chance to showcase his skills on the international stage.

Arsenal fans will be eagerly watching to see if the club can secure the services of this promising defender amid stiff competition.
