Arsenal vs Chelsea – FA Cup Final Preview

Arsenal go into the FA Cup final on saturday evening looking to win the competiton for what would be the 14th time. They come up against Chelsea which is of course a repeat of the 2017 final where they overcame the blues in a 2-1 win. I think it is fair to say that this season hasn’t exactly been a success for Arsenal but if they could win the cup, the season may not have been a complete disaster. There is no doubt that Arsenal are a different side when it comes to the FA Cup and if they can play anything like they did in the Semi Final win over Manchester City then they have a great chance. Arsenal will also definitely want to avenge the thumping that they got in Baku at the hands of Chelsea in the Europa League final.

Chelsea are no strangers to the FA Cup which they have won 8 times with 7 of those coming from 1996-97 onwards. Frank Lampard also deserve’s a lot of credit for this season, having to deal with his best player leaving and having no transfer window’s whilst finishing in a Champions League spot is quite incredible. The Blues overcame Manchester United in their Semi Final and were worthy winners despite being gifted a couple of the goals by some suspect defending and even more suspect goalkeeping.
