Arsenal vs Manchester City – Match Preview

Arsenal take on Manchester City at Wembley this evening in what is our 30th FA Cup semi final as we look to win the famous cup for a record 14th time. Our record City hasn’t exactly been fantastic recently. The last time we did enjoy success against them was of course the semi final in 2017 when we beat them and then overcame champions Chelsea to win the FA Cup for a 13th time.

The Gunners go into this game with a bit of confidence after beating run away leaders Liverpool during the week but will have to defend just as good if not better to reach the final. I was really impressed with how we didn’t capitulate on wednesday night after going a goal down and being dominated for most of the game.

This is our first real test in the cup as we have had quite a generous route to the semi final but we are going to have to be at our very best at both ends of the pitch if we are to come out victorious. If there is one positive is that we always create chances and with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang leading the line, there’s always hope. The chances of playing European football is not impossoble but it is slim escpecially with Man City’s ban being overturned so winning the FA Cup is the only realistic chance.

It is going to be very strange watching a semi final at Wembley with no fans so it is going to be interesting to see who can adapt first. If we can defend like we did the other night then we might just have a chance but if we make mistakes then it could be a very hard watch.
