Arsenal’s relentless April schedule has been confirmed following the announcement of the Champions League quarter-final dates against Sporting Lisbon.

The Gunners will travel to the Jose Alvalade Stadium on Tuesday, 7th April for the first leg, before hosting the Portuguese champions at the Emirates on Wednesday, 15th April. Both matches kick off at 8pm UK time.

The fixture congestion means Arsenal face a grueling period with six matches across 21 days, including crucial Premier League encounters and potential FA Cup progression.

Arsenal’s month begins with an FA Cup quarter-final away to Southampton on Saturday, 4th April at 8pm. Just three days later, they face Sporting in Lisbon for the Champions League first leg.

The home Premier League clash with Bournemouth remains in its original Saturday, 11th April slot at 12.30pm, sandwiched between the two European ties. The Champions League second leg follows on Wednesday, 15th April.

Perhaps the most daunting fixture comes four days later – a trip to Manchester City on Sunday, 19th April at 4.30pm. The month concludes with Newcastle’s visit to the Emirates on Saturday, 25th April at 5.30pm, though this fixture would be moved if Arsenal progress past Southampton in the FA Cup.

According to Arseblog, if Arsenal overcome Sporting Lisbon, they would face either Barcelona or Atletico Madrid in the Champions League semi-finals, with the first leg away from home.
