The move comes as Arsenal claimed the top spot in the Premier League standings after a victory against Brentford, with Liverpool now closely trailing on goal difference following a draw against Manchester City.

While Arsenal’s recent performances have been impressive, there has been speculation about the team’s need for additional firepower upfront.

Former players and pundits have raised concerns about Arsenal’s attacking options, suggesting that relying solely on Kai Havertz, Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah could hinder their Premier League title ambitions.

Despite these discussions, Arsenal’s focus remains sharp as they advance in the FA Cup and maintain their position at the top of the league.

Additionally, the Gunners have secured a spot in the Champions League quarter-finals, a testament to the improvements made by Arteta and Edu during the summer transfer window, including signings like Havertz, Declan Rice, and David Raya.

Arteta aims for top-quality additions

Amidst their success on the pitch, Arteta has prioritized strengthening the midfield, with reports linking Arsenal to Real Sociedad’s Zubimendi once again.

Spanish publication Nacional reports that Arteta has instructed Arsenal to pay the €60m (£51m) release clause without negotiating with Real Sociedad, highlighting the manager’s determination to bolster the squad.

Arteta is keen on strengthening the core of his squad with the signing of Zubimendi, who has been linked with a transfer away from Sociedad for some time now. This move is part of Arsenal’s strategy to build upon their successful season.

The Gunners are prepared to meet the requested amount by Real Sociedad for Zubimendi, indicating their commitment to securing key additions.

However, Arsenal’s transfer plans also include several other players they are actively pursuing.

Caught Offside suggests that Arsenal are leading the race for Gyokeres’ signature, despite interest from other clubs.

The Gunners are reportedly making a new striker their priority this summer, with Gyokeres, Ivan Toney, and Ollie Watkins among the names on their list.
