Bruno Mazziotti to replace Arsenal physio Chris Morgan

Arsenal physio Chris Morgan is set to leave Arsenal and join Liverpool’s backroom set up as Mikel Arteta is set to make a major change to his own.

In a report this morning by David Ornstein at the The Athletic, Chris Morgan is set to rejoin Liverpool’s backroom staff and leave a void in Arsenal’s set-up . Earlier in the season, Arsenal managed to keep hold of club doctor Gary O’Driscoll after Liverpool tried to snatch him from Arteta’s inherited team of staff. Arsenal had been advertising for a new club doctor and conducting interviews, before O’Driscoll changed his mind about leaving.

This time around though, Liverpool have been successful in securing their man and as a result Arsenal need to replace him with someone of equal or greater experience.

David Ornstein suggests that Arsenal’s first choice replacement for Morgan is PSG Physiotherapist Bruno Mazziotti, who has a close relationship with Arsenal Technical director Edu Gaspar, after previously working with him in the Brazil National side.

Bruno Mazziotti is most well known for supporting Neymar through his rehabilitation process and helping him regain his fitness prior to the 2018 World Cup. Ornstein also suggests that Mazziotti is ‘rated highly’ by other top football players such as Ronaldo, Thiago Silva and Alexandre Pato.
