Kane admits Arsenal draw was ‘fair result’ after Bayern thriller

Harry Kane did not hide behind excuses after Bayern Munich let a late lead slip against Arsenal in the Champions League, admitting a 2-2 draw was the right outcome at the Allianz Arena.
Goals from Eberechi Eze and Declan Rice cancelled out strikes from Alphonso Davies and Kane himself on Wednesday night, in a game that swung back and forth before finishing level. Speaking to DAZN at full time, the England captain and former Tottenham forward gave a measured assessment of the contest.

Who's out, who's back and what it means for the next two games.
“I thought it was a good performance. I think for large spells of the game, especially the start of the second half, we had a real intensity,” Kane said, as quoted by football.london.
“We looked dangerous, we got the goal and we had a moment to kill the game off. We had the momentum, they looked tired, but then we got caught in a low block for the final 15 minutes and they punished us with the goal. The draw was probably a fair result overall.”
Kane references Arsenal injuries
Kane also pointed to the number of players unavailable for Arsenal, suggesting the absences played a part in how the game unfolded. “There are a lot of games, we’ve got a lot of players with injuries who are missing tonight. In the end, we’ll take the point and move on,” he said.
He went on to praise the physicality and structure of the Arsenal performance despite the result not going Bayern’s way. “It was a battle. Every duel was important. They look for the second balls and build from there into the game. I thought we dealt with that for most of the game pretty well.”
“As the game got a little stretched towards the end, they grew into it and they’re a good physical team. Like I said, with the games we’re playing, it’s about every little detail. We probably didn’t get enough right to deserve the win.”
Bischof echoes Kane's praise
Kane's view was shared by teammate Tom Bischof, who admitted Bayern needed to be sharper to see out the win after taking a late lead. “When you take the lead late, it's disappointing to not take three points. We had good phases in the second half, settled in up front, but Arsenal are a good team. They applied pressure and got their goal,” Bischof said.
“This wasn’t just any opponent. We maybe needed to be a little more disruptive and annoying in the challenges as well as clever.”
The point keeps Arsenal unbeaten in the group stage fixture against one of the competition’s traditional heavyweights, with Arteta’s side now turning attention to their next assignments as the Champions League campaign continues.
