Kane admits Arsenal 'not just any opponent' after Bayern draw

Harry Kane did not hold back when assessing Arsenal's performance after Bayern Munich were held to a 2-2 draw by the Gunners in the Champions League on Wednesday night, admitting his side 'probably didn't get enough right to deserve the win.'
The England captain and former Spurs forward scored at the Allianz Arena as Alphonso Davies and Kane put Bayern 2-1 up, only for Eberechi Eze and Declan Rice to cancel out the German side's goals and secure a point for Mikel Arteta's side.

Speaking to DAZN at full time, Kane gave a candid breakdown of how the match unfolded from Bayern's perspective. "I thought it was a good performance. I think for large spells of the game, especially the start of the second half, we had a real intensity," he said.
"We looked dangerous, we got the goal and we had a moment to kill the game off. We had the momentum, they looked tired, but then we got caught in a low block for the final 15 minutes and they punished us with the goal."
Kane went on to call the result fair, while also referencing Arsenal's current absentees. "The draw was probably a fair result overall. I think we could have been a bit more clinical in the final third. But there are a lot of games, we've got a lot of players with injuries who are missing tonight. In the end, we'll take the point and move on."
Bischof echoes Kane's respect for the Gunners
Kane's assessment was echoed by teammate Tom Bischof, who admitted Bayern struggled to find the right edge against an Arsenal side he described as no ordinary opposition.
"When you take the lead late, it's disappointing to not take three points. We had good phases in the second half, settled in up front, but Arsenal are a good team. They applied pressure and got their goal," Bischof said.
"This wasn't just any opponent. We maybe needed to be a little more disruptive and annoying in the challenges as well as clever."
A battle decided by fine margins
Kane described the clash as a contest fought in the small details, with both sides pushing hard for the second balls and duels throughout. "It was a battle. Every duel was important. They look for the second balls and build from there into the game. I thought we dealt with that for most of the game pretty well."
He added that Arsenal grew into the game as it opened up late on. "As the game got a little stretched towards the end, they grew into it and they're a good physical team. Like I said, with the games we're playing, it's about every little detail."
The result leaves Arsenal unbeaten against one of Europe's heavyweight clubs despite being without several first team players through injury, with further Champions League tests still to come this season.
