Arsenal Transfer News: After Calafiori’s Arrival, Arsenal Open to Offers for Kiwior and Zinchenko

Arsenal’s move to secure highly-rated Italian defender Riccardo Calafiori is nearing completion.

Calafiori, expected to play in the left-back position, will add to an already crowded roster.

Mikel Arteta will soon have an abundance of options for the left-back spot, including Jurrien Timber, Oleksandr Zinchenko, Takehiro Tomiyasu, Kieran Tierney, Riccardo Calafiori, and Jakub Kiwior.

This surplus means some players will likely leave the club.

Kieran Tierney is expected to depart this summer, and either Zinchenko or Kiwior might follow suit.

Kiwior, in particular, has provided defensive stability, helping Arsenal win 14 out of 15 games when he played at left-back last season.

However, many fans have yet to fully appreciate his contributions.

Calafiori’s Transfer to Arsenal; Inter Milan’s Interest in Kiwior

As Calafiori’s arrival becomes imminent, Jakub Kiwior’s future at Arsenal looks uncertain.

Kiwior has turned down a move to Bologna, Calafiori’s current club, as he eyes a return to Serie A.

Now, Inter Milan has emerged as a strong contender for his signature.

The Italian champions are reportedly interested in a loan deal with an option to buy the Polish international, though Arsenal might prefer a permanent transfer.

Inter Milan is keen to bolster their defensive options, especially after losing out on Hellas Verona defender Juan Cabal to Juventus.

Kiwior has now become their primary target to reinforce the left side of their defense.

Inter’s coach Simone Inzaghi and the club’s owners see Kiwior as an ideal addition, provided Arsenal agrees to the terms.

Kiwior’s Potential Move

Kiwior joined Arsenal from Spezia in the January transfer window of the 2022-23 season but is already considering an exit.

With Calafiori set to arrive and Arsenal’s current depth in the left-back position, Kiwior’s playing time next season could be limited.

This has prompted the 24-year-old to seek opportunities elsewhere.

Inter Milan views Kiwior as a suitable backup for Alessandro Bastoni, aiming to allow Brazilian Carlos Augusto to focus on his role as a wingback.

However, for the move to materialize, Arsenal must be open to the idea of a loan with an option to buy.

As negotiations continue, Kiwior’s departure seems increasingly likely, driven by Arsenal’s impending signing of Calafiori.
