According to Football Transfers, Arsenal and Chelsea are the main contenders to sign him after Napoli withdrew their interest, opting for Romelu Lukaku instead.

Arsenal Back in Victor Gyokeres Race

Arsenal’s need for a top striker is well-known. After missing out on their main target, Benjamin Sesko, they turned their attention to Gyokeres.

The Gunners have been following him for months as a strong option to enhance their attacking lineup.

The club is keen to build on their recent success and solidify their position in European football.

“Gyokeres is one of the alternative options for Arsenal, who have been following the Sporting Lisbon striker for several months,” noted Football Transfers, underscoring the ongoing interest from North London.

Chelsea’s Search for Consistency Up Front

Chelsea, too, has struggled to find a reliable striker. Several forwards have left the club in recent seasons, leaving a significant gap that Gyokeres could fill.

The Swedish international is seen as a key target in Chelsea’s efforts to rebuild and return to the top of domestic and European competitions.

The financial aspect of this transfer is significant. Gyokeres has a €100 million release clause, which both clubs find steep.

Instead, they aim to negotiate a lower fee.

“Both Arsenal and Chelsea have no intention to pay such a huge amount but would be open to negotiate a much smaller fee,” reported Football Transfers, reflecting the financial strategies of top clubs in the transfer market.

Gyokeres’ impressive record speaks for itself. Last season, he scored 43 goals in 50 games across all competitions, making him one of the most sought-after players this summer.

“Gyokeres scored a sensational 43 goals in 50 games in all competitions for Portuguese champions Sporting this past season,” highlighting his prolific scoring ability that has attracted interest from top clubs.
